Every design project begins with an introductory meeting. During this conversation, we get to know each other better and briefly discuss the garden and any questions you may have. If there is mutual rapport and trust, a customised quote is prepared. The total price is determined based on the size of the garden and the hours required.
The design process is a creative journey that we go through together. Throughout the process, there are several points of contact and opportunities to exchange ideas and provide feedback. This way, we create a garden that fits the wishes, budget, and vision we have in mind.

phase 1intake and garden design
During the intake meeting, we discuss the current garden, budget, wishes, and ideas. The garden is measured, and existing plants and materials are inventoried. After that, the design process begins. During a garden presentation, we go through the vision for the garden using a mood board and the garden design. A 3D impression is optional.
phase 2technical drawings
After approval of the garden design, the technical drawings are prepared. This package includes all garden measurements, a materials plan, and a lighting plan. After this phase, a quote can be requested from a landscaper. The studio collaborates with sustainable landscapers, but it is of course also possible to install the garden yourself or to find your own landscaper.
phase 3planting plan
The planting plan brings the garden to life. This plan spans several pages, specifying the exact species and placement of every tree, shrub, plant, and bulb. Plant choices are tailored to the soil, location, flowering period, composition, and ecological value. A mood board and plant list are also provided.

Het was vooral door jou dat het überhaupt in ons op kwam om een tuinarchitect in te schakelen. Vooral je stijl en oog voor ecologisch belang spraken ons erg aan. Wij zijn ontzettend tevreden over het ontwerp en de begeleiding tijdens ons tuinproject. Vanaf het begin was er veel persoonlijke aandacht en begrip voor onze situatie. Op een rustige en prettige manier wist je verschillende ideeën samen te brengen tot één helder plan. Het ontwerp laat zien dat er veel oog is voor ruimte, zowel voor mens als natuur. Ook tijdens de aanleg bleef de begeleiding persoonlijk en betrokken. Er werd goed geluisterd naar onze wensen, zelfs toen wij die zelf nog niet scherp konden verwoorden, en deze werden zorgvuldig in balans gebracht met ons budget. Het zorgde er voor ons voor dat we eindelijk knopen hebben doorgehakt wat heel fijn was. Je hebt onze verwachtingen overtroffen en veel creatievere oplossingen verzonnen dan wij ooit hadden kunnen bedenken. We hebben nu een fantastische tuin die we zelf hebben kunnen aanleggen.

Zorgen voor de wereld om ons heen vinden wij heel belangrijk. Het sprak ons erg aan dat jij vanuit een ecologisch oogpunt de tuin ontwerpt. Bovendien klikte het erg goed tijdens onze eerste kennismaking. Onze tuin is niet groot, maar onze ambities wel. Jij vertelde ons dat er meer kon dan wij dachten en dat heb je in het ontwerp laten zien. Je luisterde goed en wist onze stijl goed te vangen ondanks dat wij niet precies wisten wat we wilden. De samenwerking was heel erg prettig, het heeft ons een super mooie tuin opgeleverd.

The duration of a design process depends on the size of the garden and any feedback that needs to be incorporated. A design process for a private garden usually takes 10–16 weeks. During the intake meeting, we discuss when you want the garden to be realised and the planning involved.

That is of course possible. After the garden presentation, there is the opportunity to provide feedback on the design. Processing feedback is part of this phase of the design process and therefore does not bring additional costs.

A garden can be realised throughout the year, except when the ground is frozen. The best times for planting are in spring or autumn. The soil is then neither too warm nor too dry. Autumn offers the most favourable conditions, as plants can focus on strong root growth rather than leaf growth or flowering.

The costs of realising a garden depend on many factors, such as the location of the garden and the condition of the soil. Materials are a major expense, so generally speaking: the greener the garden, the lower the costs. During the intake meeting, we discuss the budget and which choices affect the costs.
