Services
Every garden design process starts with a free introductory meeting. We take a look at your garden, your wishes, and any questions you may still have. After that, you receive a tailored quote.
May I design your garden? Then we will explore together what the garden needs in order to thrive. Based on your wishes and budget, we create a garden that reflects you, with attention to sustainability and the natural environment.
Garden design process
1Intake and garden design
During the introductory meeting, we discuss your garden, wishes, and budget. After that, I start working on the 2D design. Once the concept design is ready, we schedule a presentation. I present my vision for your garden using a moodboard and the design.
Technical drawings
After approval of the garden design, I create the technical drawings. This package includes all measurements of the garden, terraces and elements, as well as a materials plan and a lighting plan. A 3D visualisation is optional.
2Planting plan
The planting plan brings the garden to life. It shows the exact species and placement of every tree, shrub, perennial plant, and bulb. I base this on soil conditions, site location, flowering times, composition, and ecological value. You will also receive a moodboard and a plant list.
3Support during construction phase
I collaborate with sustainable landscape contractors. You can also build the garden or choose a contractor yourself of course. If adjustments or decisions have to be made during the construction phase, I can advise and coordinate with you and the possible contractor involved.

Client testimonials
We chose you because you are an ecological garden designer and we wanted to make our garden greener and more nature-friendly. Your enthusiasm was very contagious! You gave clear explanations and always responded quickly to our questions. The collaboration exceeded our expectations, as the design and planting plan already included all the information needed for a subsidy application. We will definitely recommend your garden designs to others. We are really looking forward to the realisation of our green garden, and we will enjoy it so much with our family and friends!

It was mainly because of you that we even considered hiring a garden designer in the first place. Your style and your attention to ecological value really appealed to us. We are extremely happy with the design and the guidance throughout our garden project. From the very beginning, there was a lot of personal attention and understanding of our situation. In a calm and pleasant way, you managed to bring different ideas together into one clear plan. The design shows a strong sense of space, for both people and nature. Even during the construction phase, the support remained personal and involved. Our wishes were carefully listened to, even when we could not yet clearly articulate them ourselves, and they were thoughtfully balanced with our budget. This helped us finally make decisions, which felt very reassuring. You exceeded our expectations and came up with far more creative solutions than we could ever have imagined. We now have a fantastic garden that we were able to build ourselves.

Caring for the world around us is very important to us. We were strongly drawn to the fact that you design gardens from an ecological perspective. On top of that, we really connected during our first meeting. Our garden is not large, but our ambitions are. You told us that more was possible than we thought, and you showed that in the design. You listened carefully and were able to capture our style well, even though we did not exactly know what we wanted. The collaboration was very pleasant and has resulted in a beautiful garden for us.

Wauw Kim-Lan! Fantastisch.
Jeanette, Zuid-Holland
I booked a garden scan with you because our garden needed more cohesion, and also had a few small issues, such as dry soil, messy corners, and a tree affected by pests. The questionnaire I received beforehand was helpful, not too long, and it made me reflect on the spots I enjoy in the garden and how we would like to use it. The consultation was a very pleasant introduction to your work. You immediately gave a number of practical tips we can start working with, and also showed us the ecological value of certain plants for the wider environment. This has made us look at the possibilities of connecting the back garden with the front garden with much more enthusiasm. What was also very valuable is that you thought along with us in a realistic way. This made the session even more meaningful, as the ideas you shared truly matched our wishes for the garden. I would definitely recommend a garden scan to anyone who wants to explore ideas for their garden, or part of it. Especially if you value a green and wildlife-friendly garden.

Although my partner and I really enjoy thinking about the layout of the garden ourselves, getting started felt a bit overwhelming. When you came across our path, I thought: let’s go and schedule that call :) The questionnaire you sent beforehand sometimes went a bit further than where we were at, but it was a great starting point for the call. The garden scan generated so many ideas. I want to thank you so much for your help! It was very insightful, and I have a feeling we will ask for more support once we are a few steps further along.

FAQs
-
The duration of a design process depends on the size of the garden and any feedback that needs to be incorporated. A design process for a private garden usually takes 10–16 weeks. During the intake meeting, we discuss when you want the garden to be realised and the planning involved.
-
That is of course possible. After the garden presentation, there is the opportunity to provide feedback on the design. Processing feedback is part of this phase of the design process and therefore does not bring additional costs.
-
A garden can be realised throughout the year, except when the ground is frozen. The best times for planting are in spring or autumn. The soil is then neither too warm nor too dry. Autumn offers the most favourable conditions, as plants can focus on strong root growth rather than leaf growth or flowering.

The costs of realising a garden depend on many factors, such as the location of the garden and the condition of the soil. Materials are a major expense, so generally speaking: the greener the garden, the lower the costs. During the intake meeting, we discuss the budget and which choices affect the costs. For every garden, roof terrace, balcony, or patio, a garden design adds value. Especially in a small outdoor space, a design can have a relatively large impact on the sense of spaciousness and the overall experience of the garden. Read more about this in the blog.
